The Internet obviously has lots of information about dogs but how can you tell what’s useful and what is not?

Join us for an informed presentation by Corie Bonnaffon, NYOC trainer and training director, to learn about blogs, on line classes, videos, podcasts and more.

Our Thursday classes for Junior and Senior Puppies and Basic Obedience start on March 3 and continue for 8 weeks.

 

All Full!

Tuesday classes start Feb. 8. Thursday classes still on hold.

NYOC Dog Training

Our Tuesday classes (Rally and Competitive Obedience) are starting on February 8 and running until March 29.   All of these classes are full.

At this point, Thursday classes are still postponed.  This is unfortunate but cannot be helped.

The dates for our next training sessions will depend on several factors.  As soon as we know for sure, the dates will be posted.

Cooperative Veterinary Care 

Learn how to make visits to the vet and the groomer less stressful for your pet and for yourself.

Sunday April 18th at 7:30 pm

Monique Feyrecilde, is a Behaviour specialist vet technician from Auburn, Washington.  She has done many presentations on Cooperative Veterinary Care.  She will share some of her insights with us via Zoom.  See our education night flyer for more details.

Education Night: Neurology and Dogs on Mon. March 22, 2021

Dr. Andrew Barker, will be speaking to the club about “Sundowners and Seizures”.   Sundowners are dogs getting towards the end of life. Seizures come in all different shapes and sizes. 

Dr. Barker specializes in the area of neurology and neurosurgery and will be talking to us about these conditions in dogs.

Education Night: Feb 12: Toronto Humane Society – More than Rescue

NYOC Dog Training

 

This Education Night was cancelled due to a small electrical fire in St Matthews Church.  We will reschedule the presentation but it may not be for  a few months.

Mark the date:  Feb. 12 at 7:30 pm

Alisha Unglow from the Toronto Humane Society will tell us how the THS has expanded its work into the community: camps for kids, pet food banks, shelter tours, reading buddies and much more.

We recommend you come into the parking lot from George Henry Blvd. rather than from Sheppard Ave.

NYOC Dog Training is gearing up for our mini session in November/December.

Registration is now open.  Classes start the week of Nov, 4, 2019:

  • Tuesdays: November 5,12,19,26; December 3, 10.
  • Thursday:November 7, 14, 21, 28; December 5, 12.

 

NOTE: Beginners 1 is now full.  If you want to be on our waiting list, please register but do NOT send any money.  We will contact you if space becomes available.

NYOC had a wonderful trial this year!  Many thanks to everyone who organized and volunteered in the background and to everyone who helped out in and out of the rings on the correction match and trial days.
