Photos from Scent Detection Workshop

NYOC Dog Training

On Saturday, Feb. 9, NYOC held its second workshop for members on Scent Detection under the direction of Karin Apfel.  This is a great sport to do with your dog regardless of his breed, temperament, age or mobility level because all dogs are good at using their nose!

NYOC Dog Training

Monday, Sept. 24th is NYOC’s next Education Night.  Everyone is welcome.

Margaret Schneider will be speaking to the club about “Do Dogs Really Keep Us Healthy?” Margaret is a PhD in Psychology at the University of Toronto. She has studied this topic, and has written papers about similar topics.

What do scientists say?

Are dogs just loveable pets or adjuncts to our health?

The science is divided – is it valid research or anecdotal? Come out and hear more about the science behind Dogs and our Health!

See our flyer for more information:  Do Dogs Keep Us Healthy?

New Website!

NYOC Dog Training

How do you like our new look?

Many thanks to Tina Sanders from ASA Group for our new website.  Tina has been the webmaster, web designer and technical problem solver for NYOC Dog Training since 2012.  We continue to appreciate her skill, her patience and her enthusiasm.

Most of the photos on the website belong to NYOC members, people who have attended our classes, participated in our obedience and rally trials or enjoyed one of the performances by our Demonstration Team.

We hope to see you and your dog at some of our events in the future!

June Trials – Photographer & Same Day Entries

NYOC Dog Training

A quick reminder that the NYOC Rally and Obedience trials and the correction match are on the June 15-17 weekend. Check our previous post for details.

It’s not too late to register for the trials. We will be taking same day entries. You just have to arrive early!  See the North York Obedience Premium List 2018 for details

Missy Maher, our photographer, will be taking photos of dogs on the Saturday and Sunday.  You do not have to be in the trial to come and get your dog’s photograph done!  If you aren’t in the trial, just bring your dog in via the main entrance where Missy will be set up and avoid coming into the actual arena.

NYOC Dog Training

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
