Registration opens for NYOC members on March 3 and for non-members on March 7, 2025. Classes often fill very quickly so we encourage you to register as soon as you are eligible so you and your pup don’t miss out. Here’s the registration information you need.
Do you have a new puppy? Do you want to give them the best possible start? Do you have questions or concerns?
If you expect to have a puppy, 8-24 weeks old by early January and you might like to join our puppy, please let us know (training@nyoc.ca) ASAP. We’d like to save you a spot.

Many members of NYOC and their canine companions enjoy participating in various dog sports as well as conformation events. Each year, we celebrate them by posting their names and the titles that they have earned.
If you would like to see who earned what in 2023, visit these these two pages:
If you are at all interested in doing dog sports or conformation with your canine companion, take a look at this page from the Canine Kennel Club to see just some of the dog sports that are available. NYOC training classes tend to focus on Obedience and Rally-O but many of our members participate in over twenty different dog sports. If you think you would like to join us, see NYOC’s membership page.
Sue Alexander will be presenting a talk on Self Control, what it is and what it is not when it comes to dogs and their behaviour.

Sue has done zoom meetings with us before and we are pleased to have her back again. To get the link and further information please check out this flyer.
If you still have questions, please email our Training Secretary at training@nyoc.ca.
There is no magic wand in dog training. We hope that our training classes will be fun for your dog. The classes will be work for you, though! Enjoyable work, hopefully! You will need to work with your dog 2-3 times a day for 5-10 minutes preferably in a variety of locations e.g., at home, outside, away from home, in order for you and your dog to gain as much as possible from the classes.
