Policies and Procedures

Please read the following policy statements about registering and attending dog training classes. By sending in an application form, you are acknowledging that you have read, understood and accepted the following statements.

  • Class size is limited and is made up in the order in which applications are received.
  • Reservations are not made by telephone.  You can register in one of two ways:
    • mailing in a cheque with an application form
    • emailing the registration form and paying on-line
  • After all classes are filled, all other applications and fees will be returned.
  • Due to a heavy demand for available space, a handler who withdraws less than 7 days prior to the start date of class is subject to a $25 administration fee. This will be retained from the training fees refunded.
  • No refunds of training fees will be made after the term begins. Make-up classes are not provided. Failure to attend classes is not considered to be the equivalent of a withdrawal. Exceptions will NOT be made for late registrants.
  • All dogs MUST HAVE CURRENT RABIES SHOTS. An UP-TO-DATE COPY OF THE VACCINATION CERTIFICATE issued by your veterinarian must accompany the registration form or be brought to the first class. Your dog will not be permitted to participate in the class without proof of vaccination.
  • If, in the opinion of the NYOC Instructor and/or Training Director, your dog represents a problem or potential hazard to other dogs or persons in the class, you will be asked to withdraw from the class and a pro-rated refund will be provided, the amount of which shall be determined by the NYOC Training Director. The decision by the Training Director is final.
  • If your dog is a female and she is in season, DO NOT bring her to class. We encourage you to come to the class, however, and observe.
  • The North York Obedience Club Inc. values the care and safety of all dogs and handlers enrolled. However, the North York Obedience Club Inc. will not be responsible for the loss of, or damage to, any dog, person or property whether the result of accident or otherwise.
  • After you have paid and been registered, an NYOC club member will phone to confirm this with you, to ask a few questions about your dog and to answer questions you may have.

Class Registration Instructions for Non-Members

To register and pay online:

  1. Download Online Training Registration Form.
  2. Open the file on your computer and fill in the highlighted fields.  Save and send the file via email to training@nyoc.ca.  Payment should be then be made electronically using your Mastercard, Visa or PayPal account by clicking here.

To register and pay by cheque:

  1. Download Training Class Registration by Cheque Form
  2. Open the file on your computer and fill in the forms either online or on paper.  Please send the completed form along with a cheque for the appropriate funds as outlined on the form.  Cheques should be made payable to NYOC.
