NYOC (North York Obedience Club) has been serving dog owners throughout the Greater Toronto Area since 1961. As a not-for-profit organization, our goal has always been to help people build positive, rewarding relationships with their dogs.
Our members come from all walks of life. Some have purebred dogs, some have mixed breeds, and many have both. A few of us even have cats! Most of our events are open to the public, but members enjoy additional opportunities, early registration, and access to special programs throughout the year.
No matter what you hope to do with your dog—whether that’s learning basic manners, exploring dog sports, volunteering in the community, or simply having fun together—you’ll find people at NYOC who are happy to help.
Benefits of Membership
As a member of NYOC, you can:
- Register for training classes before non-members;
- Receive discounts on classes after one year of membership and volunteer participation;
- Join our K-9 Demonstration Team and bring joy to seniors, children, and community groups;
- Participate in members-only events such as fun matches, practice sessions, seminars, and special workshops;
- Learn about obedience and rally trials through hands-on volunteering opportunities;
- Receive advance notice of guest speakers, educational programs, and special events;
- Develop your dog-training skills by assisting in classes;
- Meet friendly people who love dogs and enjoy sharing their knowledge and experience.
