The North York Obedience Club (NYOC) is a not-for-profit organization serving dog owners throughout the Greater Toronto Area. The club was started in 1961 by a group of dog enthusiasts who wanted to improve their own dogs’ performance and to bring qualified dog training to the public. Since then, NYOC has grown into one of the GTA’s most respected and affordable dog training clubs..
Our knowledgeable and experienced instructors are club members who are passionate about helping owners and dogs succeed. Whether your goal is a well-mannered family companion or competitive performances in obedience and rally, NYOC offers training programs to support every stage of your canine journey.
Because dog training is at the heart of everything we do, NYOC also hosts licensed obedience and rally trials under the auspices of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC).
Training Classes are open to the community as well as to members.
Our Training Philosophy
NYOC uses positive reinforcement methods to help dogs learn confidently and effectively. We believe training should strengthen the bond between dogs and their owners while creating reliable, enjoyable results.
