2024 CKC National Heritage Canine Performance Award
In 2024, CKC recognized 3 members for their commitment, dedication, and accomplishments as CKC members. One of these was NYOC’s Marie Babin, an NYOC member since 1980.
Marie has been President of the Cross Country Tracking Club for over 26 years. She was instrumental in organizing the first ever urban tracking seminar in Canada, becoming one of the first Canadian urban tracking judges. A long time CKC and AKC tracking judge, Marie has been and still is a driving force and mentor in the tracking community as well as a judge for both CKC and AKC.

Continuing to fine tune foundational rally skills and the team’s working relationship, the Excellent/Masters class will address the CKC signs for these levels. It will also help you build your capacity to successfully handle the longer and more demanding courses at this level.

Continue building on skills learned in Puppy class and Basic Obedience 101 through the use of fun, motivational exercises and games. This class is ideal for handlers who are interested in taking part in activities such as dog sports and therapy work, as well as continuing to connect and bond with their dog by learning new skills.
The course is structured around the needs of those in the class and therefore varies from session to session. Some specific skills include:
This class is an ideal preparation for our Foundations for Dog Sports or Rally Novice classes.

Registration opens for NYOC members on March 3 and for non-members on March 7, 2025. Classes often fill very quickly so we encourage you to register as soon as you are eligible so you and your pup don’t miss out. Here’s the registration information you need.
NYOC does not run summer classes. Our instructors are all volunteers. They need the summer break.
